Our Tipping Policy

We believe great hospitality comes from a dedicated team, and their hard work plays an important part in creating a memorable stay. This is why any tips generously given by our guests go directly to the people who make our hotel special.

In line with Government proposals, 100% of any tips received go directly to the team, split equally based on a pro-rate of the hours they have worked. If you would like to kindly leave a tip, you can do so using the options available on our card machines when paying your bill, or by leaving a cash tip if you prefer.

As always, tipping is entirely at your own discretion, we simply want to be open about how your generosity is shared.

Accessibility

Due to the age and historic nature of our building, accessibility is limited. As a traditional stone-built hotel, we have certain restrictions that come with preserving the character and design of the property.

If you have any accessibility requirements you’d like to discuss before booking, please contact our team who will be happy to advise on the most suitable options.

Our History

The story of The Royal Oak is a long one, steeped in history with roots stretching back centuries. Originally built on the site of a farm and later rebuilt in the 18th century, the building has evolved with the times while honouring the heritage of generations.
